Why Flash Websites Suck

Flash SucksFirst off lets just say Flash at times can be useful, but for something large scale and as technology progresses it deems to be more and more useless.  HTML5 is said to be the next solution, but until it’s accepted by all browsers that would not be suggested for use.

html5 is better than flash

Just some fun facts, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO,Apple Inc., Co-founder and CEO,Pixar, Co-founder and CEO, NeXT Inc. Steve Jobs even made 6 great points on why Adobe Flash was not going to proceed into the future:

Steve Jobs

  • Flash is a closed, Adobe-controlled system.
  • H.264 is a “more modern format” for Web video
  • Flash would make iPhones, iPods, and iPads less reliable.
  • H.264 video consumes about half as much battery as Flash video.
  • Flash was not designed for touch interfaces.
  • Flash is cross-platform and not Apple optimized.

Steve Jobs concludes his letter by saying:

“Flash was created during the PC era — for PCs and mice. Flash is a successful business for Adobe, and we can understand why they want to push it beyond PCs. But the mobile era is about low power devices, touch interfaces and open Web standards — all areas where Flash falls short…New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML 5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too). Perhaps Adobe should focus more on creating great HTML 5 tools for the future, and less on criticizing Apple for leaving the past behind.”
But lets just tell you a few really good reasons of our own, here in 2012 that we have found.  And we are sure as time progresses this list will grow more and more:
  • Search Engines do not understand flash content, therefor your site content is over looked.. Hurting your organic ranking and SEO and not allowing you to optimize it.
  • Does not work on mobile devices, does not look like this will change.. and with iPads and smart phones growing in sales.  This marketing is surely growing, and growing fast.
  • Longer loading time, might lose up to 20% of visitors due to this alone.
  • Bandwidth hog, Flash uses tons of server bandwidth .. and as you grow that starts to cost quite a bit of money.  Even with unlimited hosting, they server can only handle so much.
  • You cant bookmark a page, such as if you are inside a store on a very cool product you like.  If you wanted to bookmark or save that page, or even email it to a friend… you couldn’t due to flash being all inside one page… so you must start at the intro every time…
  • There is 100% nothing Flash can do, that HTML5 or Javascript cant produce better.
Fuck Flash

Also lets keep in mind the remarks from Adobe it’s self:

From the Adobe announcement ZDNet published:

Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations.

Best Website Builder of 2011

What is the best website builder or website creator?

I have tried a few website builders in my time of creating websites, and I have found WebPaper.co to be the easiest and most powerful for Search Engine optimization (SEO).  Along with affordable pricing and great customer support. Please read the following reasons as listed below to find our just why WebPaper.co is rated #1.

Reason #1

I have noticed other website builders or website creators that are made in flash such as circlepad.com.  This produces a flash site as well, now the downfall to this is flash is not accepted everywhere and therefor your site wont be seen.  You should know that flash is not supported on most if not all mobile devices such as: iPhone’s, iPad’s, BlackBerry’s and even HTC’s cell phones wont support flash.  Not to forget the rising use of mobile devices for internet use.  WebPaper.co  is your non flash website builder, creating amazing business and personal websites alike in full HTML/CSS platform.  Taking all the programming and coding headache out of the website building experience.

Reason #2

Full control, some website builders like webs.com wont allow you to really place items wherever you want on the screen.  It just allows you to move text blocks above or below each other. But WebPaper.co allows you to add anything to any location of your website, providing full control over your website.

Reason #3

Advertisement FREE for 30 days!  WebPaper.co does not advertise on any users websites for 30 days, unlike every other website builder on the market.  Most website builders like webs.com place a 1″ inch by 6″ inch advertisement on the very top of your website.  For just $1.00 a month this banner can be removed off a free account, thats only $12.00 a year! So why lose visitors to non-related advertisements?

Reason #4

100% FREE!   WebPaper.co offers what others do not, such as homestead.com says its free.  But when read closely you will see its a free trial, it still requires you to enter in your credit card to get started.  WebPaper.co lets you sign up and get started building your very own website.  Never once did it ask for my credit card, until I wanted to look at upgrading my account, to gain more pages or access to more applications for the website builder.

So all in all WebPaper.co offered the best website building experience, all 100% Free of charge for my very first web page.  I loved the Search Engine optimization (SEO) features as well, to find out more about using WebPaper.co please check out the Tour section.
